Rosaura Ruiz *

She holds a degree, master's degree and doctorate in biology from the Faculty of Sciences of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).She held the positions of Director and professor of the Faculty of Sciences, Secretary of Institutional Development, and General Director of Graduate Studies at UNAM. She is a member of the National System of Researchers and in 2008 she was appointed president of the Mexican Academy of Sciences, being the first woman to hold that position. From 2018 to 2023 she served as head of the Secretariat of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Mexico City. She has collaborated with international organizations such as the Organization of Ibero-American States where she has served as an expert advisor on education and science issues since 2009.
