Alfonso Durazo Montaño

Law degree from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana. He has a master's degree in Public Administration from the Instituto Sonorense de AdmiTnistración Pública and in Democracy and Parliament from UNAM and the University of Salamanca, Spain. He has a PhD in Public Policy from the Tecnológico de Monterrey. He has been a researcher at the Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas of UNAM. He is the author of several essays on governance and governability in Mexico, and serves as an editorialist for several newspapers in the country. Since 1973, he has held several public positions, among them: Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Private Secretary, spokesman for the President and General Coordinator of Social Communication in the Presidency of the Republic, Secretary of Social Development, Senator, and currently, he is Governor of Sonora.
